Twenty20 cricket carnival has started as world number one t20 league IPL has started and all participating 10 teams have played t least one game in the season so far. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s star batter and former skipper Virat Kohli has set the batting benchmarks for the young cricketers and fellow players to break his records.
India’s former opener and current commentator Aakash Chopra has all praise for King Kohli as he said in an interview that VK has changed the mindset of players with his batting skills. Now batters think to score more runs at good pace while batting in a t20 match. Having an average of 30 in shortest format of the game is a good sign of a player but Kohli managed to maintain 50 plus average for a long time that shows how good he’s at scoring runs.
“Virat Kohli actually changed the perception completely that 30 is the new 50 in t20 cricket. He was averaging 50 for a long time,” said Aakash Chopra in an interview to Betway.
Betway conducted an interview recently in which several former cricketers, commentators and expert gave their opinion on who is the greatest t20 cricketer ever. In the list apart from Aakash Chopra, Ian Bishop, Kevin Pietersen, Rassie Van de Dussen were present to give their opinion on the best ever twenty20 format player.
South African cricketer Rassie Van Der Dussen also highlighted the fact that Kohli is a hungry player who always looks for runs. He’s said that Kohli has brilliant technique which applies to longer format of the game but at the same time he has power hitting capability score runs at decent strike rate which makes bowler job tough to get him out.
“Virat Kohli just always seems to be making runs. Sort of a simple technique, classic technique which obviously applies in test cricket but he has also got the power game,” Rassie Van Der Dussen quoted to Betway.
Virat Kohli hasn’t scored international hundred for past two years but still he’s averaging over 50 until the last series against South Africa. He’s playing for RCB at the moment in Tata IPL 2022 as a batter and he’s looking in great touch to score some big runs in this season.
